Don’t miss reading this carefully argued but painfully frightening piece, written by law professor Bruce Pardy and reposted on the other side of the paywall with his kind permission, whose title speaks volumes about the way the socialist NDP government of British Columbia is planning to allow its indigenous, non-treaty people to veto decisions about land use in the province, a decision that will surely destroy the livelihood of untold numbers of indigenous and non-indigenous people alike.

Here are four of hundreds of reader comments when this article first appeared in a national Canadian newpaper:

When Horgan retired he said putting UNDRIP into legislation in BC was his proudest achievement, and now his successors (unelected) are busy giving away the province under the guise of "reconciliation," a word as misused and misunderstood and misinterpreted as "genocide" and "decolonization." BC taxpayers will be on the hook for all of this, as will taxpayers in the rest of Canada.

Canadians had better wake up to the dangers of the unrestrained virtue of the left, or else we will be as impoverished, and taken over by our enemies.

his is a profound change in the very existence and fundamental operation of the Province of British Columbia which demands an immediate referendum on such a massive shift of operation policy.

The question this will bring to the business investment environment is going to financially harm this province for years!

SHAME ON THE BC NDP for doing this behind closed doors like this!!! They forget that they are OUR representatives, not our OVERLORDS.

Natives should be treated like every other Canadian--that is not have any 'meta-rights'. You want to weaken and possibly contribute to Canada's demise as a nation state, then keep on doing things like this.

Still, a late February statement from Nathan Cullen, B.C.’s minister of water, land and resource stewardship, said the province had decided not to proceed with proposed amendments after holding a series of meetings with stakeholders opposed to this move.

But this may only be a temporary setback for a government likely to be returned to power in the upcoming October 19 provincial election.
