The following piece, the first installment in a three-part series, written by yours truly, carefully examines the outrageous way the serial murder spree allegedly committed by Jeremy Skibicki, a white man, against four homeless indigenous women in Winnipeg has been twisted and politicized by their family members and indigenous activists, defaming the victims of real genocides, only some of which have officially been recognized by Canada (e.g., the Armenian genocide, the Holodomor, the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide, and ethnic cleansing in Bosnia) in the process.

The purely symbolic but still unconscionable motion by New Democratic Party member Leah Gazan calling on the federal government to recognize what unfolded inside residential schools as a genocide that received unanimous consent from MPs in the House of Commons on October 27, 2022 has no official standing and could never attain official standing because genocide never happened.
