As discussed in my July 13 post, Regent College, a renowned evangelical graduate school on the campus of the University of British Columbia, cancelled a lecture by Nigel Biggar due to woke social media pressure.
My response to the sleazy skullduggery of Regent College administration was to sign up for membership in the new, Canadian chapter of the Free Speech Union!
“The managers, thinking they’re protecting the reputation of their institutions and oblivious to what else is at stake, comply by cancelling lectures.”
The reputation they mean is of being good woke people who seek to lift up some minority groups at the expense of others. They couldn’t care less about truth or academics or enlightenment values.
Official multiculturalism is the nihilism of the moral equivalence of all cultures. Such a nullity paints all colonialism in a bad light as it erases the moral, cultural and economic benefits from our history. History is fraught with the successful and positive results from those believing their own culture worth spreading. The grievance industry has successfully exploited such nihilism to equate pre-contact hunter gatherer, slave taking, genocidal, feast and famine, stone age subsistence as equal to or better than that of western civilization (colonizers). Today's colonizers successfully believe their (retrograde) theocracy as superior to all others and are demographically-likely destined to dominate. Christendom kept them at bay for 1400 years but Christendom has now been infected with the same cultural Marxism that invented "multiculturalism". The authoritarian pathologies now prevalent in academia are a result of such capture.
Excuse my language but this cancel culture bullshit needs to be addressed in order to prevent even more division among Canadians! Woke is an evil that is being killed by Trump in the USA along with DEI and Identity Politics! Anyone WOKE hoping to work OR transfer to any USA for employment in the future should be denied on these grounds alone! No place for Left Wing Ideology as their days are coming to an end while Karma awaits ……

I am glad to see that there is at least some push-back to the culture of succumbing to the pressure of the ignorant.
It’s so sad that all our Universities don’t support or encourage free speech or thought. “Insensitive”? What a dumb excuse! Are we not all adults?
