In the satirical-cum-cynical piece on the other side of the paywall, Brian Giesbrecht nicely argues why September 30, Reconciliation Day, “should be a day of celebration for all Canadians – indigenous and non-indigenous.”

The ultimate cynicism, which I strongly embrace, is that no indigenous activists and their legions of non-indigenous supporters would ever like to see the emergence of genuine reconciliation because this would end the rapacious hegemony of the Indian Industry in Canadian society.
