The beautifully crafted and meticulously argued piece on the other side of the paywall written by three outstanding researchers — James Pew, Brian Giesbrecht and Nina Green — was first published in a prestigious Canadian magazine on December 19, 2022. It is re-posted here with permission of the lead author.

The focus of the essay is the June 8, 2022 federal government appointment of Kimberly Murray as Independent Special Interlocutor for Missing Children and Unmarked Graves and Burial Sites associated with Indian Residential Schools. An indigenous activist, Murray was Executive Director of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) from 2010 to 2015.

Her previous role should be a red flag for anyone skeptical about the results of the TRC’s 2015 Report, a series of volumes that should have been titled the Falsehood and Recrimination Report, as Rodney Clifton and I inferred here and here just days after the Report was released.

Truth and Reconciliation report tells a 'skewed and partial story' of residential schools
The following opinion piece published in a leading national newspaper by yours truly and Rodney A. Clifton on June 22, 2015 is our response to the outrage our earlier June 4 op-ed caused (see below) or here. It was first re-published in this newsletter in January 2022. I re-post it again as an end-of-year special along with the accompanying two pieces that preceded it over the past two days…

As these three authors carefully document:

So far, Murray’s activist narrative [about IRS students] is accepted without question, despite the fact that there are no police records or media reports throughout the history of the residential school system of any parent searching for a child who went missing from a residential school. Not one of those thousands of children who supposedly vanished in a murderous residential school system had a parent who went to the media or the police for assistance in finding a missing child.

Paid subscribers will be well rewarded with the facts and logic supporting this indigenous boondoggle, one of many we have had to endure and finance for decades.
